UNDER VOTE - An Illinois law, effective 1-1-2010.
If any of the Illinois Constitutional offices is left blank, the ballot remains in the tabulator and a message appears on the screen, stating an office has too few votes.
The judge of election will ask the voter, if he meant to leave the office blank.
If the voter wishes to leave the ballot as is; the ballot will be counted as it was voted.
If the voter wishes to have the ballot back; the ballot will be returned and the voter may vote for the missed office or offices.
The intention is to allow the voter a chance to correct a ballot, if a mistake were made.
ALL BALLOTS CAST IN THE BALLOT BOX ARE COUNTED AS THEY WERE VOTED.
