Military/Overseas
Citizens of the United States residing overseas indefinitely may
vote an absentee federal ballot through the mail, faxed or emailed,
if their last address in the United States was in Rockford,
IL.
United States Citizens serving in the United States Military
Service and their spouses, who are citizens, may receive an
absentee ballot through the mail, faxed or by email whether
registered to vote or not, using the FVAP absentee ballot
application.
A ballot application received after January 1st of any year is
applicable for all elections in that calendar year.
To avoid delays, an absentee ballot application may be
downloaded from the Federal Voting Assistance Program website at www.fvap.gov. The completed fvap
absentee ballot application may be mailed to the address below,
faxed to (815) 987-5757 or emailed to info@rockfordboe.org.
The ballot will be delivered to you through the method you choose;
mail, fax or email.
However, Illinois law requires that the voted ballot be mailed
back to our office. The voted ballot must be mailed to our
office no later than midnight on the day before the election and
received no later than 14 days after the election to be
counted.
